What's Offered?

Crop offering predictions are just that--predictions. The list above is our best guess based on our crop planning for the year. This is not, however, set in stone! There may be items we aren't able to offer and their may be items we didn't plan on offering but are able to provide! CSA purchases require flexibility and an acceptance of the inherent unpredictability of farming. While it is our goal to provide you with an opportunity to try all of the above, we must also humble ourselves with the knowledge that Mother Nature often doesn't match our plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CSA? A CSA stands for Community Shared/Supported Agriculture and was created on the premise that farms and their communities can support one another. The community--that's you! -- buys "shares" of the farm's produce at the beginning of the season, which allows the farm to cover costs for things like wages and necessary supplies. The farm--that's us--then ensures that community investors receive a steady supply of its produce throughout the season. You can see a list of possible seasonal offerings above; however, these may change. When working with mother nature you can expect some surprises. So, while our aim is to provide you with everything you see on the list at least once, there may be weeks when our schedule doesn't go to plan. Our promise is that you will always get your money's worth, and that your vegetables will always be the highest quality that we can provide.

Where and when can I pick up my veggies? Our weekly pickups will be on Fridays evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays of every week. If you are in the immediate area around the farm (we are located at 5546 Old Thompson Rd in Norwood) we will be offering Friday evening through Sunday afternoon pick up here on the farm. We invite you to come say hello and check out the goings-on! Saturdays we will be at the Matthews Community Farmer's Market and the Uptown Farmers Market you can pick up your share at either between 8-12. We are working on offering a few additional pick-up locations and will update our list as we add them. If enough people sign up and request pick up in one location, we may add that location as a drop off. So, encourage your friends to join you in fresh weekly veggies!

Do I have to pick up at the same spot each week? You may choose to pick up at one location one week and a different location the next week according to what is convenient. This is fine! Just please let us know a week in advance if you are not picking up at your usual location so we know where to bring your share.

Are your vegetables organic? Yes, they are, though we are not yet certified by the USDA. Our farming experience comes entirely from farms that successfully implement organic practices, so we are committed to meticulously following organic standards of growing: no GMOs, no synthetic pesticides, no harmful fertilizers or sprays. We will be looking into certification in the future, but for a starting farm it is a very costly and time-consuming process. However, the proof is in the pudding, come check out our farm for yourself and see how we operate!

What if I'm going to be away? Going on vacation or leaving town? Email us at least two days before the pickup date you will be missing (the earlier the better!) and we will make arrangements to credit your account for a future date. You can use this credit for a double share or future add-ons.

What are your add-on options? We offer a fresh-roasted coffee share courtesy of our roaster here on the farm. This includes one 12oz bag of coffee of your choice, ground or whole bean. Check out the coffee tab in the menu for our current list of offerings. We also occasionally offer flowers which include seasonal bouquets made with flowers grown and foraged on the farm.

What if I don't use my credits by the end of the year? Your credits will not roll over into 2024 so we encourage you to make arrangements to use any credits before the final week.

What if I need to cancel? If you are moving away, please contact us and we can offer you a refund on a prorated basis. We are always looking for ways to optimize our CSA so if you are unhappy with your share for some reason, we will ask that you get in touch with us but can offer situational cancelations on a pro-rated basis.

What the heck is this vegetable? There may be items that you're unfamiliar with. In fact, we hope that we can introduce you to some new things! Have no fear! We will have recipes for each of our items so you will be able to enjoy everything you receive, but if you still have questions, we want to hear from you. Feel free to email us!

What if I miss a week or forget to pick up my share? We ask that you email us at the latest two days before your pickup date (Monday night if you pick up on Wednesday/Thursday, Thursday night if you pick up on Saturday) we will assume you are coming to pick up your share. This means we are taking the time to harvest and package your share and will have your produce ready. If you do not give notice and do not come to pick up, we will donate your share and cannot issue refunds. This helps protect the cost of our time and the cost of the harvested product.

I've signed up for a share, will I get any instructions or updates from you? Yes! We will be sending out a weekly newsletter with info about the weeks' share, recipe links, and short updates about the goings-on. Before the season starts, we will be sending out detailed information about how and when to start picking up so you don't forget or miss the first week. Please make sure you add our email (csa@tfmarketgarden.com) to your contacts or our emails may end up in your spam folder and you'll miss out on important info!
